After cleansing, a carbon paste is applied to the skin, which is absorbed by the pores and grips on to any oil and debris. The ND YAG Q Switched Laser is then used to gently blast the carbon away, along with any dead skin cells and excess sebum, creating an exfoliating effect whilst regenerating collagen. During the treatment you will be able to hear a snapping sound as the laser beam hits the charcoal. This is just the photo-acoustic effect and is perfectly normal. The sensation felt is that of a gentle, warm flick on the surface of the skin and although some people may feel this more intensely, it is not a painful treatment. Protective eye shields must be worn during your treatment to protect your eyes from the laser light. Once all of the carbon paste has been removed, our cooling Aloe Vera gel is applied to the skin along with a layer of SPF.

A £20 booking fee is required to secure your space, however this is either deducted from the cost of your laser treatment or returned to you if you decide that the treatment is not for you. The booking fee falls under the rules of our Booking and Cancellation Policy therefore we do require 24 hours notice to cancel/reschedule your consultation otherwise the fee will unfortunately be lost.

Carbon laser facial is a minimally invasive, painless treatment that combines the effectiveness of laser light with the goodness of carbon. It is also known as the 'China Doll Peel' owing to its effect on the skin. It helps to regulate the sebum production in the skin and, thus, is quite effective in tackling oily skin and related issues. It refreshes and rejuvenates the skin and is a great way to get rid of skin issues such as acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. It is a great way to remove dirt, debris and impurities from your skin and give you smooth, soft and firm skin. Taking only 30 minutes, along with little to no downtime, you could even enjoy this facial during your lunch break.

  • Although you can have just the one treatment, this type of facial delivers its best results over time and so a course of 3 - 6 is usually recommended, with treatments taken at monthly intervals.

  • Anyone can enjoy this treatment as long as you are over the age of 18 and are not contra indicated.

  • It is extremely important prior to and after your Carbon Laser Facial that you follow your therapist’s pre/post care advice. This is to minimise the risk of adverse reactions and keep the normal side effects to a minimum.

    Pre-Treatment Care:

    1 . Do not tan or expose unprotected skin to the sun, or tanning beds for 30 days prior to your treatment.

    2. Avoid extreme heat 24 hours before such as hot tubs/saunas/steam rooms.

    3 . Remove any fake tan. Treatment cannot be performed if this is present.

    4 . Shave any hair in the area to be treated 24 hours prior. Or, if you prefer to wax you can do this up to 72 hrs prior, providing you experience no sensitivity.

    5 . Avoid using acids, retinols or exfoliants a week prior to your facial.

    6. If you don’t already, start using a SPF 30 prior to starting your facial, ideally for 30 days.

    Post-Treatment Care:

    1 . Avoid vigorous exercise, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms and swimming for 48 hours post treatment.

    2 . Avoid exposure to sun or sunbeds for 30 days post treatment.

    3 . Use an SPF 30 minimum on the area when being exposed to DAYLIGHT, not just on sunny days.

    4 . Avoid using acids, retinols or exfoliants for a week after your facial.

  • A patch test consists of 3 shots of the laser applied to the skin. We do this to see how the skin and will react to the treatment and to make sure it is safe to continue with a full session. We will take a photo of the area before and after the patch test. You will also be required to send us a picture 48 hrs later so we can assess how the skin has responded.

    On the same day, prior to performing the patch test we will go through a thorough consultation consisting of medical and health questions to assess your suitability for the treatment. It is extremely important that you answer and questions honestly and to the best of your knowledge.

  • The skin will be slightly red, but this will subside within a few hours. Aloe Vera gel can be used to help with this and can be used as often as desired post treatment.

    Any pigmentation that was on the face may darken and crust. This usually falls away within 14 days and is perfectly normal. It is very important that you DO NOT pick any crusting as it can cause deeper pigmentation and scaring.

  • This is a pain free treatment however you will feel a gentle flick as the laser makes contact with the skin along with some warmth.

  • Unfortunately, due to health and safety reasons no one can come into the room with you during your appointment. They are welcome to sit and wait in our reception area.

    Please do not bring young children who cannot supervise themselves.
